How do I do EFT?

Learning the EFT technique is easy and fast. To get used to the technique, practice the following activities:

karate chop point face points other points

1) While tapping with one hand on the "Karate Chop" point of the other hand ("KC"), say the following phrase three times:
"Even though I have this problem, I deeply and completely accept myself."
2) Tap 6-7 times on the eyebrow point ("EB") and say "this problem".
3) Tap 6-7 times on the side of the eye ("SE") and say "this problem".
4) Tap 6-7 times under the eye ("UE") and say "this problem".
5) Tap 6-7 times under the nose ("UN") and say "this problem".
6) Tap 6-7 times above the chin ("CH") and say "this problem".
7) Tap 6-7 times on the collar bone point ("CB") and say "this problem".
8) Tap 6-7 times under the arm ("UA") and say "this problem".
9) Tap 6-7 times on the top of the head ("H") and say "this problem".

Using EFT for a Specific Problem

First, choose a feeling or problem you want to work on: emotions such as anger, sadness, worry, guilt, fear, or others, or physical problems such as headaches, backaches, muscle aches, or other pain/discomfort. Make a mental note of your feeling/problem or write it down. Be as specific as possible!

Next, assess the severity of this problem from 0 to 10, where 0 is no problem at all and 10 is the worst it could possibly be. Make a mental note of this number or write it down.

Then, begin the process as described above and substitute your individual feeling/problem for "this problem". For example, "Even though I have this sadness, I deeply and completely accept myself."  Then, beginning with the eyebrow point, tap and say “this sadness” and continue tapping on all the points, always saying “this sadness” at each.  After going through the complete routine, re-assess the intensity of your feeling/problem. If it is not down to a zero, assign a new number for it and repeat the exercise, saying, "Even though I still have some of [this feeling/problem], I deeply and completely accept myself." Also, at each tapping point, say "All remaining [feeling/problem]."

Repeat this exercise until you have reduced or eliminated the negative charge.

Important Notes

If you are not getting the result that you want, it does NOT mean that EFT doesn't work for you. You may have one of the following problems:
1) You have not identified the core issue(s).
2) You are being too general with your phrasing.
3) There are other emotional contributors of which you are not consciously aware.
If you are unsure as to how to continue, consider contacting Jayne today for a class or a personal session. As an EFT practitioner, Jayne can help you identify your core issues, help you find your emotional contributors, and teach you how to use EFT to its greatest capacity.

Also, while EFT has achieved excellent results with many physical conditions, the technique should not be seen as a substitute for appropriate medical care and should always be used in conjunction with medical consultation for such conditions.
